Norwalk NQ-SH3 Series Acetylene Compressors are designed for continuous duty, and available in a range of sizes and capacities to compliment smaller sized acetylene generation plants.

They are simple in construction, silent in operation, and well known for their exceptional operational performance. They have very low piston speeds, low compression ratios and efficient gas cooling to keep friction heat to a minimum. The first stage cylinder is double acting and located on one crankshaft throw; the second and third stage cylinders are single acting and combined into a common assembly on the other throw. The final stage piston is semi floating to insure perfect alignment. All cylinders and coolers are completely submerged in water, providing positive and effective cooling performance while eliminating any exposed hot runs of pipe. These features are essential when compressing acetylene gas.
